15th September. Cockfosters 1 AFC Dunstable 1 (Lost 5-4 on pens) (Premier Division Cup)
A 2nd cup competition exit in 4 days, saw AFC once again lose a penalty shoot out. Making the trip on a damp evening to Cockfosters, seemed to not interest the players for the opening 60 minutes. Steve Heath decided to rest a few players after the exploits of the weekend.
The home side opened the scoring after only 7 minutes, when an unmarked Sivi Bao headed home. The tie was not setting the world alight, as chances were few and far between.
Half time. Cockfosters 1 AFC Dunstable 0
The 2nd period opened up as the 1st ended as both teams struggled to put any stamp on the game. All of a sudden AFC started to put some pressure on, as Cockfosters defended well. From a cross from Danny Jones, a Brandon Carney header just went wide. The visitors continued to dominate the ball, but did not really create any decent chances. With the game drawing to an end, in the 95th minute AFC were given a life line, as they took the tie to penalties with an own goal by a Cockfoster defender.
So onto penalties and once again AFC came up short in this form of the game. Losing 5-4 and their 16th unsuccessful attempt out of 19.
