19th November - Marlow 0 AFC Dunstable 1

An early goal from Jermaine Hall proved to be the winner, which saw AFC move up a place into 4th. Having shared the spoils at Creasey Park back in August, Marlow have had an excellent season so far, as they have moved up to 3rd in the league, only lost 2 of their previous 17 games and were unbeaten at home in the league. So this result for AFC, shows what a great achievement it was.

The visitors made one change from the midweek defeat to Farnborough, Adiel Mannion came in for Brandon Carney. Also making a late appearance was Leon Cashman, after a missing 16 games due to his foot double fracture.

With 3rd playing 5th, it was envisaged a close encounter and that was to be. Chances for both teams were few and far between. In the end AFC shaded the chances, as they created slightly more and the goal by Hall was a class finish.

Playing in red, AFC opened the brighter and Mannion was looking dangerous out on the right. A good run and cross by him was not taken up by the visiting strikers. Next chance fell to Hall from a cross from Newman Carney but he could not get his header on target. His next chance, Hall made no mistake. On 18 minutes, Mannion picked him out and he cut inside and his strike was too much for Simon Grant.

With the game being a tight affair, it was looking like the early goal maybe the difference between the two sides.

Half time: Marlow 0 AFC Dunstable 1

The game followed the same trend as the 1st half and when Newman Carney put through Hall on the hour, it looked like he might double AFC's lead. This time though Grant denied him.

Both teams seem to be cancelling each other out, then all of a sudden the hosts started to put some pressure on, without really carving out any decent chances. Ricky Perks in the AFC goal did have to punch a couple of crosses away and with 8 minutes left pulled off a smart low save.

With the game drawing to an end, Mannion was denied by Grant. A low shot by Moses Olaleye was parried out by the home keeper. It looked like all Mannion had to do was to slot home the rebound. To be fair to Grant, he recovered well to make the save.

So the final whistle came and a decent solid performance by the visitors, which saw them manage the game well and comeback from the disappointment of Tuesday.
