11th November - Chalfont St Peter 1 AFC Dunstable 0

AFC fell to their 4th defeat of the season, as Chalfont took all 3 points which saw them move within 3 points of their visitors.

After the excitement of the 3-3 draw last time out against Hayes and Yeading, AFC could not re-produce that form and The Saints based on chances created deserved the points on offer.

In the week, the OD's had moved into the transfer market securing the services of Brett Longden, who moved from St Ives Town. Moving out was Lee Close, who was released.

On a chilly afternoon, the opening exchanges were pretty even. As the half progressed Chalfont started to create chances. Ben Ward-Cochrane was leading the line superbly for the hosts and was causing all types of problems to the AFC back line with his movement.

In the AFC goal, Jamie Head was called into action to deny Chalfont the opener. Then it was the turn of Newman Carney to preserve AFC's clean sheet as he cleared George Beattie's effort off the line.

Half time: Chalfont St Peter 0 AFC Dunstable 0

If AFC were to get anything from the game, they needed to up the pressure. The start of the 2nd half mirrored by 1st but on the hour the Saints took the lead. Good work by Victor Osobu on the half way line robbed Christian Tavernier of the ball. He fed Beattie who in turn found man of the match Ward-Cochrane who finished the move. 1-0 to Chalfont.

The goal seemed to wake up AFC and at last started to apply some pressure. A fine strike from Louis Bircham was well saved by Carl Dennison as AFC went all out for the equaliser.

They pushed Chalfont back but their defence held firm and saw out the game to take all 3 points.
