After a very close 1st half, of which the two teams could not be separated, it was a change at the break, that saw Louis Bircham replace recent two goal hero Terry Griffiths in AFC's last outing against Uxbridge that changed the game.

While both sides battled out an opening period, chances were few and far between. The visitors looked lively early on without really testing Jamie Head in the AFC goal. The hosts did have the best chance of the half, when a Nathan Frater strike went just wide.

So the 2nd half was expected to follow the same trend as the 1st, but Bircham had other ideas. The half was only 2 minutes old when he broke clear to finish very coolly. His 2nd came 4 minutes later, when Christian Tavernier won the ball in midfield and picked out Bircham whose finish was similar to his opener.

Full of confidence, he nearly completed his hat trick a minute later but this time Aylesbury's stopper Jack Hopwood denied him.

Now leading 2-0, the visitors still had plenty of time to get back in the game, but they struggled to carve out any clear cut chances, as Head was rarely tested.

Now managing the game quite comfortably, with 15 minutes remaining, BJ Christie replaced Nathan Frater and within 3 minutes he had made it 3-0 with a very classy finish.

The result moved AFC back up to 3rd place, after Hartley Wintney suffered defeat at the hands of fellow play off hopefuls Hayes & Yeading United.
