July 2015 -AFC boss Heath on the challenge ahead
On Saturday, AFC Dunstable completed their pre season friendlies, with a win over Chalfont St Peter from the Southern League Central Division.
Running out 3-1 winners with goals from Jermaine Hall (2) and Roy Byron, AFC manager Steve Heath now is looking to prepare his team for the trip to FC Broxbourne this coming Saturday.
On the pre season Heath said " I have to be happy with going unbeaten but it will count for nothing if we fail in our first league game. With bringing in so many new faces into my squad, I am very pleased the way the players have reacted. To think we have beaten 4 teams from the Southern League in pre season and the new members of the squad have been excellent.
He continued " I now have a squad of 18 and I dare say will need all of them, as the games come thick and fast in August and September. It is inevitable that we will pick up injuries in that time and we start the season with a couple of players suspended anyway"
AFC travel to play newly promoted FC Broxbourne on Saturday and Heath says on the game " they have a slight advantage on us, as today they played a competitive game in the Herts County Cup against Leverstock Green. I have heard good reports about them and we will need to be at our best to get anything from the game"
