As in the corresponding fixture back in October at Holloways Park, AFC ground out a 1-0 win to take all three points. With Beaconsfield harbouring thoughts of a play off place, the hosts knew they had to repel any such thoughts, as a win for the visitors would have put them 6 points within AFC with a game in hand.

After receiving his red card last Saturday, Nathan Frater was starting his 3 match ban. BJ Christie was then recalled, which was the only change.

It was looking like the Rams meant business, as they came flying out of the traps. They put the AFC defence under extreme pressure and should have been 2 goals to the good within the first 15 minutes, made up of a cracking strike that smashed against AFC's crossbar and Garry Malone had to pull of a good save from Ollie Jones.

Slowly the home side started to compete a lot better as the half wore on and started to quell any threat the visitors could muster.

AFC's first chance came on 21 minutes, when a dangerous cross from Christie just eluded Jermaine Hall. The game was now becoming a midfield battle and chances for either side started to dry up.

The 2nd half carried on in the same vein as the end of the first, as both teams found it hard to carve out any decent chances. While AFC finally saw more of the ball, both defences were rock solid and it looked like a share of the spoils was going to be the outcome.

Then with 5 minutes of normal time left on the clock, once again another dangerous cross from Christie resulted in Newman Carney getting on the end of it to score from close range.

So a very important 3 points, which keeps AFC in 5th place and still occupying a play off place.
